Product Warranty Manual

Warranty for your product is specified in the below chart and starts from the Date of Purchase against manufacturing defects in the parts specified in below chart. Warranty Coverage is valid only with a valid warranty registration done with company. Warranty is void for any alterations made in product,Scratches, breakages, unauthorised installations, damage due to misuse , normal wear & tear.

Please note that none of the hardware required to install products & Charcoal Filters ( required for Kitchenhoods) are included as a part of Product. All hardware & Charcoal Filters can be purchase at Extra cost. All installations are done at an extra cost, cost will be available with authorised service centres or call Toll free # 1800 233 0007 or 9243007666. However 6 inch x 10 feet Aluminum flexible duct pipe & Power cord of 3.6 meter's  is included in Split Kitchenhoods.

  1. How to Obtain Warranty Service or Other Information?
    1. To Obtain warranty, Please visit www.myelica.in and sign up and fill warranty registration form you will receive warranty registration number this number should be used for future communication. Or you may choose to fill the warranty registration form in this manual and courier us along with photo copy of Purchase invoice we will register the warranty and you will receive mail for Warranty registration number. This process should be done within six months from Date of Purchase

    3. In case the product can be repaired at site the parts under warranty will be change on free of cost basis but the cost to provide the services will be charged.
    4. Visit charge of Rs. 250 /- during warranty / out of warranty will be levied to customer for every service intervention after a period of six month from date of  Purchase. For areas out of municipal limits as on actual cost of travelling to & fro and other incidental expenses  as prevailing from time to time will be levied to customer.
    5. Customer will have to pay transportation cost in addition to installation cost  in areas where service center is not available
  1. What is Life time Warranty?
    Elica defines life of the product as 15 years. Life time warranty means warranty on the kitchenhood as specified in the above chart and applicable on the parts as specified in the above chart for 15 years.
  2. Who is covered for Warranty?
  3. This warranty extends only to the first consumer purchaser, and is not transferable. Consumer who has called Elica Customer care Toll free number 1800 233 0007 or 9243007666 for installation & has registered for warranty with company by filling up the Warranty registration form & has sent the same to Elica PB India Private Limited from  the manual / online registration on website www.elicaindia.com within six months from date of purchase, would be eligible. Such customers will be given warranty as per the warranty applicable for the product indicated in above table.
  4. What is not covered? (Exclusions)
    I.  Product registration: Product not registered for Warranty with Company within six months from date of Purchase.
    II. Installation : Product not installed by Authorised service person   / authorised service centre. Damages occurring in product due to installation by unauthorised personnel / unauthorised agency.  For  installation through authorised service centre please call 1800 233 0007 or 9243007666 or SMS Elica <space> service to 9220092200. Refer website www.elicaindia.com for authorised service centre list.
III. Electronic parts are not covered under warranty. However please refer to the table for coverage of parts.

IV. Normal Wear and Tear : Periodic maintenance, repair and replacement of parts due to normal wear and tear are excluded from coverage. Discoloration of burners due to oxidation on usage.
V. Abuse & Misuse : Defects or damage that result from :

a. Improper operation, storage, misuse or abuse, accident or neglect, such as physical damage (cracks, scratches, rusts, breakage of glass etc.) to the surface of the product resulting from misuse.
b. In ducting mode do not connect the kitchen hood duct that is used for Exhausting fumes of other appliance / gadgets.
c. Contact with liquid, water, rain, extreme humidity or exposure to acidic atmosphere, sand, dirt or the like, extreme heat, or food.
d. Use of the Products for commercial purposes or at places like institutions, hospitals, community halls, hotels and other similar applications or subjecting the Product or Accessory to abnormal usage or conditions.e. Attack of pests / rodents / birds making nests in the duct pipe or
f. Other acts which are not the fault of Elica PB India Private Limited.
g. Consumer using any kitchen utensils/ cooking appliances /aids (eg. Bati Cooker, Kaladu, Gas Tandoor, Gas oven, Paniyarrakal Maker etc.) which cover the burners and touch the glass surface directly of the Glass Built in Hob /cook tops, are excluded from warranty coverage. Consumer using deep round bottom vessels which touch the surface of the burner.
h. Usage of non suitable vessels in Cooking Range/ Built-in ovens / Built-in Microwaves.
I. Usage of wrong detergents/ non-suitable vessels in dishwasher.
j. Using Built in Hob as cooktop by adding legs / stand

VI. Use of Non Elica Products and Accessories. Defects or damage that result from the use of Non- Elica branded Products, Accessories, Spares or other peripheral equipment are excluded from coverage
VII. Unauthorized Service or Modification. Defects or damages resulting from service, testing, Adjustment, installation, maintenance, alteration, including without limitation, Product changes or modification in any way by someone other than Elica PB India Private Limited, or its authorized service centers, are excluded from coverage.
VIII Altered Products. Products or Accessories with (a) serial numbers or date tags that have been removed, altered or obliterated; (b) broken seals or that show evidence of tampering; © mismatched board serial numbers; or (d) nonconforming or non-Elica housings, Filters , spares or parts, are excluded from coverage.
IX. Erratic Electric supply. Any electronic part gets damaged due to erratic power supply, improper electrical circuit, are excluded from coverage
X. Accidents : accidents as a result of following reasons:
a)    kitchen hoods due to non cleaning of filters.
b) Charcoal filters directly exposed to flame of cooktop / hob.
c) Consumer using any kitchen utensils/ cooking appliances /aids which cover the burners and touch the glass surface directly of the Glass Built in Hob /cooktops , are excluded from coverage.
d) Customer failing to read the right usage of the product from the users manual & customer failing to understand standard features of the product.
e) Customer failing to peel off protective PVC film from product resulting in fire.
f) Wrong installation, gap between base of kitchen hood and top of Cook top/ Built in Hob not maintained between 65cm-75cm.
g) Carcass / Granite cutting dimensions not as per specifications of the product in case built in appliances. (visit www.elicaindia.com)
h) Carcass for Built-in Oven / Built-in Microwave Oven is not ventilated from rear side.

4. When does warranty Expire ?

Unless specified otherwise this warranty will automatically terminate on the expiry of the warranty period of one year from date of invoice, even if the product may not be in use for anytime during the warranty period for any reason whatsoever including any technical breakdown and the time taken for such repairs/replacement of parts and transit, whether under this warranty or otherwise shall not be excluded from the warranty period.  Incase the product is under Life Time warranty company assumes the life of the product to be 15 years from the date of Purchase. Any change of location or changes in the ownership during the warranty period are excluded from coverage.

5.    What is Value Back Benefit (VBB)?
In our effort to delight the customer the company is offering 100% Value Back Benefit (“VBB”) in addition to the Life Time Warranty on select models of Elica Kitchenhoods at no additional cost.VBB offers the customers on selected option to change their Elica Kitchenhood after a period of 10 years, 7 years 5 years or 3 years and avail the value back benefit as follows –
a.    10 years :  In case the Customer wishes to change the Kitchenhood after a period of 10 years from the date of original purchase the customer is entitled to a 100% value benefit of original purchase value of the Kitchenhood purchased, the rupee value of original purchase price would be reduced from the purchase price of the new Elica Kitchenhood.
b.    7 Years : In case the Customer wishes to change the Kitchenhood after a period of 7 years from the date of original purchase the customer is entitled to a 75% value benefit of original purchase value of the Kitchenhood purchased, the rupee value of original purchase price would be reduced from the purchase price of the new Elica Kitchenhood.
c.    5 Years : In case the Customer wishes to change the Kitchenhood after a period of 5 years from the date of original purchase the customer is entitled to a 50% value benefit of original purchase value of the Kitchenhood purchased, the rupee value of original purchase price would be reduced from the purchase price of the new Elica Kitchenhood.
d.    3 Years : In case the Customer wishes to change the Kitchenhood after a period of 3 years from the date of original purchase the customer is entitled to a 30% value benefit of original purchase value of the Kitchenhood purchased, the rupee value of original purchase price would be reduced from the purchase price of the new Elica Kitchenhood.

7.    When will the Value  Back Benefit  become null & void ?
a.    Incase customer fails to register for  Life time Warranty /Value Back Benefit by filling up the Warranty registration form from  the manual / online registration on website www.elicaindia.com. 
b.    The completed Value Back Benefit card is not presented to the designated dealer as specified by the company at the time of new purchase.
c.    The product is shifted outside India.

8.    What are the terms of  Value Back Benefit VBB?
a. The VBB offer is valid on purchase of Elica Kitchenhood only.
b. The customer has to purchase the new Elica Kitchenhood of a value which should be equal to or higher than the original purchase value.
c. The offer price or MRP applicable at the time of purchase of the new Elica Kitchenhood would be considered for availing the value back benefit. The value so determined shall be at the sole discretion of the company.
d. The VBB is available to the original purchaser only and this value back benefit is non transferable.
e. The offer is valid only on the first purchase at the retail outlet & is not valid on resale of the product.
f. The VBB offer cannot be substituted, negotiated or encashed.
g. The customer will have to produce the original purchase invoice so as to verify the original purchase price and check the date of purchase to determine the completed number of years.
h. The customer has to bring back the old Elica Kitchenhood to avail of the VBB offer.
I. The VBB is available on select models of Elica Kitchenhoods only.
j. Any disputes arising out of this offer shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of competent courts in the city of Pune. The existence of a dispute, if any, shall not constitute a claim against the company.
k. The company will not be liable for the non-fulfillment of any terms of the offer contained herein, in full or in part, due to force majeure and / or due to reasons beyond the company's control.
l. The company reserves the right to add, alter, modify, change or vary all or any of these terms and conditions or replace, wholly or in part, this VBB offer by other offer, whether similar to this scheme or not or to withdraw it altogether without giving any prior notice and without assigning any reason

9.    Is Value back Benefit Registration & Life Time warranty Registration / number the same?
Yes . the products having Life Time Warranty have Value back benefit too hence the registration form and the allocated Life time Warranty ? value back benefit number is the same.

10.  Abusive / Wrong Behaviour
Incase Consumer uses abusive language while registering complain / or obtaining service related information with the person attending the call on the toll free number, then in such case company will hook the call and may not entertain the call again. Incase  Consumer does not allow  the technician to inspect the product  or gets physically or verbally abusive with the technician in such case  Company shall terminate the warranty and will not entertain any further complaints from the consumer. In such incidences company shall take restrictive action against the customer.  

11.     Replacement

a. CONCEALED DAMAGE: Product that is damaged but which cannot be seen from the outside of the carton, please e- mail customercare@elica.inThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Concealed damaged must be reported within one day of purchase. Visible damage should be refused and not accepted at time of delivery.
b.DOA POLICY :
i) Out of box DOA (DEAD ON ARRIVAL) are eligible for exchange within one day of purchase. Please e-mail customercare@elica.inThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it & report the problem. After one day, (no exceptions) product will be called at the nearest service station /company to schedule for repair.
ii) If product has been installed & then fails within the one day unit must be called into our nearest service station/ company & arranged for repairs & necessary service, Such products are not eligible for replacement.
iii) All DOA product must be returned in original packaging, with original purchase invoice & warranty number (if registered  for warranty) & with a authorised technicians report, failing to do so comapany reserves rights to refuse for replacement.
c. RGA (Return Goods Authorisation) PROCEDURE : Within one working day of contacting  customer care Department of Elica PB India Private Limited , an RGA will be issued to the location of the defective product. A replacement will be sent once the Dealer/Reseller has signed off on the RGA authorizing sales to send out a replacement. The replacement will be billed to the Distributor/Dealer to replace the product to customer. Once the defective product is returned to the company a corresponding credit note will be issued to the Distributor/Dealer. All relevant purchase proofs should be given with RGA, material should be in original packaging. Replacements for any of the above cases are not possible if the consumer does not allow technician to inspect the product. In such cases company reserves rights to take unilateral decision.
d. It should be noted that in case of Concealed Damage/Dead on Arrival product should be unused in order to qualify for replacement, or else the product will be repaired not replaced.

The company  on receipt of complaint will direct the nearest Authorised service station to inspect the product .Elica India Private Limited , at its option, will repair, replace parts  that are covered under warranty. However will charge the customer for providing service. We may use functionally equivalent reconditioned /refurbished/pre-owned or new Products, Accessories or parts. The company is not obliged to provide customer with a substitute /standby product during the service period or any time. The company  will repair the product & will not replace the product with a new product. Incase the call is for installation of the product the company will contact the nearest Authorised service centre to install the product and give Demonstration of the product. Installation & demonstration are not covered under warranty / cost of the product and will attract charges.

13.  What Other Limitations Are There?
a.    This warranty is effected in Pune and claims, if any, shall be made only before the courts having jurisdiction in Pune and no claim shall be made against the company outside Pune not  withstanding that the appliance may have been sold or delivered else where. All such cases will be subject to Pune jurisdiction. Company reserves sole discretionary power to settle them. Existence of dispute /claim if any will not constitute claim against company.
b.    Elica PB India Private Limited shall not be liable for any incidental, indirect, special or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the purchase, use or performance of product.
c.    This warranty will continue to be in force for the term herein specified irrespective of what repairs/ replacement may be provided under it & such repairs/replacement shall not attract any fresh warranty.
d.    Elica PB India Private Employee / Service franchisee / service provider/dealer / distributor  is not authorised to change the terms of warranty policy
e.    Libel is a statement or comment about a person or organization that cannot be proven to be true and may be considered damaging to their reputation, integrity and/or interests. Libelous statements are prohibited and will be legally dealt.
f.    All Elica Appliances(except Auto Ignition Cooktop & Cooktop style MFC hobs ) operate only on  230 V , 50 Hz (AC) ,Warranty shall stand invalid if any of the appliances are operated on alternate power supply(inverter/generators/ Solar power or any other source than AC.
g.    Discoloration of Metalic cooktop glasses or coloured glass due to usage of any kitchen utensils/ cooking appliances /aids which cover the burners and touch the glass surface directly of the Glass Built in Hob /cook tops, (eg. Bati Cooker, Kaladu, Gas Tandoor, Gas oven, Paniyarrakal Maker etc.)
h.  No warranty on Sabaf Lotus -Brass  / Enameled Black burners for discoloration ,Denting, Deformation & chipping or peeling of enameled black coating.

i. Elica PB India Private Limited will give Warranty for Elica make products purchased online from Snapdeal, Amazon etc but will not be responsible for transit damages. Any parts damaged will be charged to the customer.


CAUTION & CARE FOR ELICA APPLIANCES
Safety Precautions and Maintenance suggestions 

  1. Do not pull the chord to disconnect the plug. Remove the plug itself from the socket.
  2. Do not attempt to dismantle the built in product.
  3. All the enamelled and the glass parts should be cleaned with warm water and neutral solution.
  4. Any food spills (water, gravy, coffee ,tea, milk, oil etc.) on the built in product should be wiped away before they dry .
  5. Do not use abrasive or corrosive products, chlorine-based cleaner or hard rubbing for built in.
  6. Do not use the vapour cleaning appliances.
  7. Do Not Use any Cooking Utensils/Aids which cover the Burners & Touch the Glass of Built-in Hob or Cooktop for eg. Bati Cooker, Kaladu, Gas Tandoor, Gas oven, Paniyarrakal Maker, Charcoal Chimney lighter etc.
  8. Metallic/ colored glass cooktops are prone to discoloration if Bati Cooker, Kaladu, Gas Tandoor, Gas oven, Paniyarrakal Maker, Charcoal Chimney lighter etc or any such utensils covering the burner are used, hence do not use such utensils.
  9. Do not use flammable material in or nearby of built in product.
  10. Do not leave acid or alkaline substances , such as vinegar, gravy/ curry, salt, sugar or lemon juice on the hob.
  11. Electrical socket for Hobs should not be near to cylinder area.
  12. The hood must be installed exactly above the cooker hob.
  13. The minimum safety distance between the Hood and cooktop is 650 mm in case of electric cooker and 750mm in case of gas burner.For vertical hoods distance between gas burner a Kitcheood should be 450mm – 550 mm max
  14. Glass used in all appliances is a tempered glass will only break and crystalise on impact, hence avoid any impact on the glass.
  15. Ensure that the hood is equal or of larger size than the built in hob / cooktop.
  16. Make sure to keep  your hood in horizontal position.
  17. Do not “flambé” food under the hood. Naked flames could cause fire.
  18. Do not leave pans unattained when frying. Cooking oil can catch fire.
  19. Never use flammable materials duct to extract air from hood.
  20. To clean the interior and exterior of the hood body by using a dry or wet soft cloth with a neutral liquid detergent after cooking.
  21. Do not use multiple plug adaptors or extension board in case of built in product.
  22. Do not allow children to use the appliance without supervision.
  23. The accessible parts of the oven may get very hot during use. Keep children away.
  24. Do not touch the heating elements in the Oven and MWO.
  25. Never hang anything heavy on the oven door handle.
  26. Do not cover the bottom of the oven with aluminium foil or other objects.
  27. Oven / Microwave door must be kept clean.
  28. Do not pour water directly  inside of the hot oven. The enamel coating could be damaged.
  29. Never touch the oven with any wet part of the body and do not operate it with bare feet.
  30. Use Oven gloves to remove the pan and accessories when the oven is hot.
  31. Do not use sealed containers / eggs in the oven. The pressure that develops inside the container might cause it to explode, damaging the Oven.
  32. Do not use containers made of synthetic material for cooking in Oven. They could melt at high temperature.
  33. Use only recommended Oven or Microwave oven safe cookware.
  34. Keep an eye on the oven if you are using a lot of fat or oil. Oil and fat can over heat and catch fire.
  35. Never pull out fully loaded shelves.
  36. Before using the oven remove stickers on the front, Oven Door and in Accessories, except for rating label.
  37. For first time use of Oven-Heat it 200 degree Celsius  for about an hour to eliminate the smell of the protective grease and insulating materials. Keep the window open during this operation.
  38. Please peel the protective (PVC) film before using any appliance. PVC is inflammable.
  39. Gas Built in Hob / Cooktop must be used in well ventilated room .
  40. Hobs Burner cups should be cleaned with damp Scotch Brite sponge wipe after spillage & Glass should be cleaned as and when required with any Glass cleaner available in market. While cleaning Burner Cups ensure that the burners are cold ( do not touch hot burners), lift the burners from the burner cup and clean the burner cup as indicated above , place burners back in place properly. Caution : do not place burners in correctly. Stainless steel plates below burners can be cleaned with scotch brite scrubber and wiped with damp sponge wipes. Built in Hob grids should be removed from hob when cold ( do not attempt to touch immediately after cooking as the grids remain hot for a while even if cooking is done) and scrubbed with detergent  and washed under tap dried with cloth and should be placed back on hob.
  41. To optimise the usage of your Hob , placing correct vessel on the burner is important. Ensure the Vessel base Diameter is larger than the burner. Usage of Flat bottom vessels avoids wastage of fuel.
  42. Gas consumption is directly related to the usage and correct usage of vessels.
  43. To convert your Hob from LPG to CNG , kindly call authorised service centre or SMS Elica <space > service to 9220092200.
  44. Do not modify Built in Hob to use as free standing cooktop.
  45. For proper working of your appliance ensure there is proper earthing provided at all electrical points and ensure that appliance is plugged in sockets as per requirement ( Kitchenhood & Built in Hob 5Amp  AC supply &  all other appliances 15 Amp AC supply)
  46. Do not wash Built in Hob with water as it can damage Auto ignition generator.
  47. Dishwasher should be cleaned internally regularly and vessels should be rinsed before placing in dishwasher
  48. In case you are using hand held Gas Lighter to ignite the burners, hold the lighter without touching the burner. In case the lighter touches the burner, the burner can create back firing noise, in such incidence, switch off the burner and relight the burner holding the lighter without touching the burner.
